A Week of Tributes
During the week, following the sad death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, Keston church was opened to allow visitors to come in and pay their respects. There was the opportunity for visitors to spend some time to reflect, pray and light a candle. We had 85 visitors sign the Book of Condolence, which will now go into church archives, some visitors also left floral tributes in our Garden of Remembrance.
We feel blessed with the amount of visitors that passed through our doors that week as Keston Church is set in an area of very little footfall. We do not have the volume of visitors that a high street church, or church set in a town would have, our location is reasonably remote. A fair number of walkers and cyclists pass by but don’t always have the opportunity to visit our lovely church. So at least 85 visitors in one week is a real indication of the love the nation felt for our late Queen.
