The First Sunday of Advent

November 29, 2020

Message for Sunday 29th November 2020

Almighty God,
As your kingdom dawns,
Turn us from the darkness of sin to the light of holiness,
That we may be ready to meet you
In our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.   Amen

Readings for this week are:
New Testament – 1 Corinthians 1: 3-9 and Gospel Reading – Mark 13: 24-37

This week is the first Sunday of Advent, the beginning of the church year and an opportunity for all of us to spend time in reflection, preparation and waiting. It is the lead up to the celebration of the coming of Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world.

Due to the increase in transmission of the virus, there will not be a service in church this coming Sunday or during January!
A return date will be discussed by the PCC during January and we will announce our plans going forward.

It is with great sadness that we make this decision, but, hope you can agree that as a church we have a duty of care to each other and we do need to prioritise the welfare of ourselves, our congregation members and our families.

Our Vision Statement

To welcome and embrace all who come into this beautiful ancient place of peace to be blessed, healed and equipped by God for the challenges of everyday life.
