Frank Netscher 7 September 1930 – 21 October 2024
In his late teens, Frank attended a church where he became fascinated by the sermons of an old, retired priest. These sermons always ended with the same theme “God is Love”. In response, Frank was Confirmed at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Frank trained as a Chartered Accountant and worked for Sainsbury’s, becoming their chief accountant in 1975. He met the love of his life, Sheila, and they had two children, Philip and Sandra. The couple shared many interests including golf, their passion for gardening and travelling the world.
After moving to Keston in 1988, they started attending Keston Parish Church where they found their place in Keston’s warm, welcoming family of God. They both joined the choir and then Frank joined the PCC, (Parochial Church Council). In 2018 Frank began the lengthy journey of seeking planning permission to extend the church car park which was finally dedicated in 2023.
After 61 years of marriage, when Sheila died Frank said he felt the power of prayer and the depth of love of his family like never before. After his own diagnosis of terminal cancer, Frank still continued to spread joy and laughter to those he met and carried on worshipping at Keston church.
Frank was a very kind, loving and generous gentleman who loved to make others laugh and smile. He is now at peace with his beloved Sheila.
