Emerging

Message for Sunday 12th July 2020

This week there seems to be a sense of emerging – the lockdown has eased for many businesses and there are planned dates for further ‘unlocking’ in the coming weeks. However, this can’t happen without preparation. No doubt you will have seen how the different places have had to prepare to open – that’s no different for us at church. I’ve met with both the Churchwardens and the PCC in this past week and we have made a plan for the safe re-opening for Sunday worship. Of course this worship will look somewhat different for us for the first few weeks!

We have settled on 16th August to be the first Sunday gathering and we are in the process now of preparing the building for that. I will send out detailed instructions of how that will work for us next week – but, in the meantime please do get in touch if you haven’t already done so, to let me know if you would like to return in August. This is important as we will need to operate a booking system, just as our Cathedral in Rochester is, as numbers will be limited to enable us to stick to the Government and Church of England guidelines. Depending on the numbers who want to gather we may need to offer alternate weeks initially.
