Defibrillator for Church and Hall
Thank you to everyone who has so generously given towards the cost of a fully automated external defibrillator, (AED), to be sited in Keston church foyer. In particular we would like to thank Pam Robertson for giving us the largest donation from the Keston Singers funds. Sadly, the group has now decided to fold after nearly 60 years.
A member of the congregation, Steff Nash, who is an A&E Consultant has kindly given us some Basic Life Support training so that we have the confidence to use the defibrillator if need be – although of course we are hoping we won’t have to! An AED is a medical device designed to analyse the heart rhythm and deliver an electric shock if needed to restore the heart rhythm to normal, ie. to revive someone from sudden cardiac arrest.
